To apply for disability benefits - child (Under age 18)
1. Contact SSA and provide income and resource information.
2. Fill out Child Disability Report
3. Wait for decision.
*If denied, use denial (or approval) letter to apply for a medical card. Even if you have private insurance, Medicare can be used as secondary insurance to help cover co-payments and appointment balance.
